Session timeouts, supported browsers and devices
Sessions end after a period of inactivity. Use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari with cookies and JavaScript enabled.
Why you are signed out
Online banking ends a session after a period of inactivity. It is a deliberate protection for anyone using a shared or public computer. You will see a warning shortly before it happens so you can stay signed in.
Supported environments
- Current or previous major version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
- Cookies and JavaScript enabled for the banking domain.
- Device date and time set automatically — an incorrect clock breaks secure sessions and authenticator codes.
If you are signed out constantly
- Clear cached files and cookies for the banking domain, then sign in again.
- Disable privacy extensions or strict tracking protection for the banking domain only — some block the session cookie.
- Avoid opening online banking in several tabs with different accounts; sessions will collide.
- Try a private/incognito window. If it works there, an extension on your normal profile is the cause.
Always sign out using the Log out button rather than just closing the tab, particularly on a device you share.
