How do I add, verify or remove a beneficiary?
Beneficiaries are managed under Transfers → Beneficiaries. New ones are confirmed with a one-time passcode and may have a short cooling-off period.
Adding a beneficiary
- Open Transfers → Beneficiaries → Add beneficiary.
- Choose local or international, then enter the full legal account name, account number or IBAN, and the bank details.
- Give the beneficiary a nickname so it is easy to pick later.
- Confirm with your one-time passcode.
The cooling-off period
Some account types apply a short delay before a newly added beneficiary can receive a large payment, or cap the first payment. This is an anti-fraud control: it gives you a window to notice an unauthorised addition before significant money can move. Smaller payments are usually allowed straight away.
Editing and removing
Bank details on an existing beneficiary cannot be silently edited — you add a new beneficiary instead, and confirm it with a passcode. That prevents an attacker quietly repointing a trusted payee. Removing a beneficiary takes effect immediately and does not affect payments already sent.
Review your beneficiary list every few months. Anything you do not recognise should be removed and reported the same day.
