How do I freeze or unfreeze a card?
Cards → select card → Freeze. It stops new transactions instantly and is fully reversible — ideal when a card is simply mislaid.
Freezing is the right first move whenever a card is out of sight but probably not gone for good.
- Sign in and open Cards.
- Select the card and toggle Freeze card.
What freezing does
- Declines all new purchases, ATM withdrawals and online payments immediately.
- Leaves the card number valid, so unfreezing restores everything instantly.
- Does not stop transactions already authorised, or existing recurring subscriptions charged by some merchants.
Freeze or report lost?
| Situation | Action |
|---|---|
| You think it is at home or in another coat | Freeze |
| You cannot find it and have retraced your steps | Report lost and replace |
| You believe it was stolen, or you see unknown transactions | Report stolen immediately, then dispute |
A frozen card left frozen costs you nothing. When in doubt, freeze first and decide afterwards.
