How do I set up a scheduled or recurring transfer?

Choose a future date, or a repeating schedule, on the transfer screen. Scheduled payments can be edited or cancelled any time before they run.

  1. Start a transfer as normal and select the beneficiary and amount.
  2. Under When, choose Schedule for later or Repeat.
  3. For a repeating payment, set the frequency — weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or annually — plus the start date and, if you want one, an end date or a number of payments.
  4. Confirm with your one-time passcode. The schedule is created; individual runs do not need re-approval.

Managing them

Everything you have set up lives under Transfers → Scheduled. From there you can pause, edit the amount or date, skip a single run, or cancel the whole schedule. Changes made before the run date take effect immediately.

If a scheduled run fails

The usual cause is insufficient available balance on the morning it runs. We notify you, and depending on the schedule settings we either retry the next working day or skip that run. A failed run never cancels the whole schedule on its own.

Fund the account the day before, not the morning of. Incoming transfers from other banks do not always clear early enough.
